Play was called off as early as 9.15am local time, adding to the frustration of fans and players alike. With the first two days of the Test already abandoned, the prospects of a result seem increasingly unlikely.
The last time the first three days of a Test were abandoned was in 2008, which also included New Zealand, with Bangladesh being the opposition in Mirpur.
